Christmas 2026 in Larnaca District: Market, Parade and SanTa Lefkara Planner

A practical plan for the festive season across Larnaca District, from the Zouchouri Square market and the city parade to an afternoon of lace, silver and carols at SanTa Lefkara. Last season's pattern shows you how to time your weekends.
Larnaca's Christmas season is spread across the whole district. The city has its market, parade and seafront funfair. Lefkara turns into an official Christmas Village. Most weekends, smaller villages put on soup stalls, bazaars and carols. This planner shows you how to fit them together.
One note on dates. The 2026–27 programme has not been published yet. The timings below follow the 2025–26 season, which is the best guide to how this year is likely to run.
How the season usually runs
- Late October: Larnaca Christmas Land funfair opens at Europe Square, Foinikoudes. In 2025 it opened on 25 October.
- Late November: SanTa Lefkara Christmas Village opens. In 2025 it ran from 22 November.
- Early December: the large Traditional Christmas Market at Forest Beach takes place, along with the first village events.
- Mid to late December: the Larnaca Christmas Market at Zouchouri Square runs over three Friday-to-Sunday weekends, and the Christmas Parade takes over the city centre.
- 31 December: New Year's Eve at Foinikoudes.
- 6 January: Epiphany marks the end. Lefkara and the funfair have both closed around this date.
Larnaca Christmas Market, Zouchouri Square
This is the city's main festive gathering, held in Zouchouri (Zouhouri) Square in the old centre. Expect street food, live music, entertainment and stalls run by local artists.
In 2025 the market ran on nine dates, spread over three weekends in December. The 2024 market was longer, covering 13–23 and 26–29 December. Either way, plan on the weekends before and after Christmas.
The Christmas Parade
Santa leads the parade through the city centre with his "dancing friends": costumed mascots and dancers from Larnaca's dance schools, performing to seasonal music. Last season the parade took place on a Saturday in December, the same weekend the market was open. Pairing the two makes an easy evening out. Arrive early if you have small children who want a front-row view.
Christmas Land funfair, Europe Square
The funfair at Europe Square (at the Foinikoudes end of the seafront) is the longest-running part of the season. It is a good option for weeknight evenings when nothing else is on. It has usually run until around 6 January. Check the official event page for opening hours.
SanTa Lefkara Christmas Village
Lefkara is one of the Christmas Villages run by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, and the one in Larnaca District. Last season it opened on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 22 November. From the run-up to Christmas it opened daily until 6 January. Events centre on Lefkara Square and the lanes around it.
Getting there
Lefkara is 43 km from Larnaca. Take the A5 and A1 towards Limassol, then follow the signs up into the hills. At 650 m above sea level it is noticeably cooler than the coast, so bring a warm layer for the evening concerts.
What's on
The 2025 programme opened on 22 November with a majorette and Christmas-character parade. Other highlights included:
- Guided village tours, 10:00–11:00 on selected Saturdays
- Lefkara embroidery workshops at the Handicraft Center
- "Kingdom of Bees" and beeswax candle-making at the Wishing Park beside the Primary School
- Bracelet-making at Holy Cross Church Square
- Concerts on the Primary School yard main stage and at Town Hall Square
- Children's activities throughout the day
Lace and silver shopping
Lefkara is famous for Lefkaritika, its hand-stitched lace, and for filigree silver. During the Christmas Village you can watch both being made at live demonstrations, so you can see the craft before you buy.
A small lace doily or a filigree pendant makes a good gift that travels easily. Visit the Folklore Museum and the Church of Timios Stavros (Holy Cross) while you are there. If you want to learn the basic stitches yourself, book the embroidery workshop.
Street food and village events around the district
Last season's smaller events give a good idea of what to watch for:
- Traditional Christmas Market, Forest Beach (Dekeleia Road): held in early December 2025, with over 200 stalls. Check the organiser for 2026 entry details and prices.
- Aradippou, Apostolos Loukas Square: hot soups, street food and drinks, plus Santa and his elves, a photobooth and a violinist.
- Livadia: several December dates, including the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck and Santa's motorcycle procession.
- Kiti "Village of the Angels": events on several December dates.
- Pyla, Vavla and Avenue of Wishes: events in mid-December, including a bazaar, carols and workshops at Vavla.
- Scala Vinyl Fair Xmas Edition: held on 28 December last year at Sunmoon Creative Space.
A sample festive itinerary
Weekend one: early December
Spend Saturday afternoon at the Forest Beach market for gifts and food. On Sunday, drive up to Lefkara for the workshops and an afternoon concert.
Weekend two: mid December
On Friday evening, eat your way around Zouchouri Square. On Saturday morning, join a guided tour in Lefkara and shop for lace and silver, then head back to the coast for the parade. Check which villages have events on Sunday. Kiti and Livadia both held them on the same weekend last year.
Between Christmas and New Year
Lefkara opens daily during this stretch, so a weekday visit is quieter. Catch the final market weekend in town and go crate-digging at the vinyl fair. Then finish at Foinikoudes on 31 December for the New Year's Eve celebrations.
Before you go
All dates and hours above are from the 2025–26 season, so check before you go. The Larnaka Tourism Board posts the regional calendar at larnakaregion.com/events. The Christmas Villages schedule appears at visitcyprus.com. Lefkara's own programme is published on lefkara.travel.
